So, why should YOU sign up for the next Girl Geek Academy at FACT?
Honestly, as a previous Academy graduate, my advice would be to just say ‘YES!’ As it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Through Girl Geeks I have made friends for life, which was actually why I wanted to join. It’s really exciting to make friends outside of school, that have similar interests to you. What I liked in particular was the mixture of ages. It’s really fun to experience new things with new people and get to know them more.
I also liked the number of opportunities Girl Geeks has opened for me. Before starting the Academy, never in a million years would I have thought that I’d be blogging for them, like I am today.
Learning new skills is really fun too, it’s definitely not like school at all. It’s very chill and very practical and you are constantly doing things, instead of sitting at a desk listening to some teacher waffle on about things you’re never going to think about again.
I think Girl Geeks has also matured me a lot and brought me out of my shell. It’s taught me the importance of commitment and how not to be shy around people older than me.
