How would we get by without Twitter? It’s perfect for sharing news, cat photos and trying to condense your witty one liners down into 140 characters. Here are our top five #techy Twitter feeds…

1. @leighalexander

Editor of Gamasutra, Leigh Alexander has also written for the Guardian and VICE UK and has penned two eBooks, Breathing Machine and Clipping Through. Follow Leigh for observations on women in gaming, tech culture and erm, videos of little girls shouting at preachers.

2. @Ladygeek

The wonderful Belinda Parmar created Lady Geek which campaigns to Technology more appealing and accessible to women. Like what we are aiming for, the Lady Geek twitter account isn’t just about giving you the latest news in tech, it raises awareness of stereotypes in the technology industry, and encourages people with various online campaigns. We LOVE what Belinda and her team are doing and hope that one day, we have a following like they do!

3. @BBCTech

Although similar to the Guardian, the BBC News Twitter keeps it simple and updates its feed frequently with news articles on technology as they happen. Follow them if you’re looking purely for technology news rather than opinion pieces.

4. @girlabouttech

Amy Cutmore blogs at Girl About Tech and is the Consumer Editor for Ideal Home. Amy focuses on technology which can be used around the house and, as she says herself, “if it’s got the looks, the brains and a plug, I’ll tweet about it”! Follow Amy for previews of new gadgets before they hit the shelves and her super sweet Twitter page design.

5. @TheGadgetShow

Finally, we thought we’d end our Twitter round up with The Gadget Show. The Gadget Show is the show to watch for the newest weird and wonderful technology and their Twitter feed is no different. Follow them for the lowdown on new products and weekly competitions.
