Role outlines:

Power Engineer – As a Power apprentice you’ll learn how to work on our electrical power systems that drive all of BT’s network equipment. Without power we’d have no BT TV, no BT mobile and no BT broadband!
It’s a wide ranging role, you could find yourself working on our air conditioning (vital to the functioning of equipment in our equipment buildings) or with our core safety systems that protect our network.

This role is critical to the entire network and is a great opportunity to support the business and make a real difference.

Power Planner – As a Power Planner you’ll organise how the equipment in our telephone exchanges will be powered. This includes learning about all elements of power supplies as well as the various equipment types we use.
You’ll be making sure all our customers can access our great services (BT mobile, fixed telephone, TV and broadband) whenever they need to.

Control – If you join our control team you’ll be playing a really important part in our business. You’ll be based in one of our offices making sure that our engineers remain safe whilst working.

You’ll be organising their work so they’ll be in the right place at the right time to fix things for our customers as quickly as possible.

Electronics – Working in our electronics team is a great opportunity if you want something different every day! You’ll be helping to make sure our systems are working properly for our customers. It’s a wide ranging role where you’ll be fixing all sorts of problems so that our customers can make phone calls or use their broadband correctly. You’ll be involved in lots of interested transmission work and maintaining our technology so the signals get through to our customers whether that’s over our fibre or radio network. There is also an element of build work, meaning you’ll also get practice installing and setting up various types of equipment that make up our amazing network.

Software Engineer – If you’re interested in a digital career in software, our full degree apprenticeship role may be for you. You’ll be involved in designing and creating applications then testing and supporting them in our network. This could include anything from working on web applications, apps for smart phones and tablets or on BT’s internal systems. Whatever you do, you’ll be helping BT deliver great services for our customers.
