The UK has one of the fastest growing digital sectors in the world, with over 1.64 million digital tech jobs to offer and growth rate of double non digital sectors (Tech Nation report 2017). Yet when it comes to recruiting talent, the sector is facing numerous challenges. A widening digital skills gap coupled with a lack of diversity in applicants are just two of the factors slowing down our growth. On the flip side, for individuals seeking to get into the sector it can also be confusing and difficult to determine what skills you need.
In this edition of our Women in Tech Meetup supported by Doris IT, our industry panel will discuss emerging alternative routes into the sector, such as the rise in apprenticeships and coding bootcamps, alongside exploring better ways for Liverpool’s tech industry to recruit the new talent it needs.
Come along with your ideas, comments, questions and join the debate!
