Liverpool Girl Geeks present the monthly Women In Tech meet up, this month in partnership with The Lead Agency.
PANEL DEBATE - Bro Culture. Does it really exist and what can digital companies do to attract more diverse workforces?
In June we’re inviting a panel of entrepreneurs and senior business members to talk about company culture within digital / tech and what can be done to avoid the ‘Bro Culture’ that has unfortunately been historically associated with the industry. We’ll be asking our panel about the recent Uber scandal and also how they think a culture should be created and adapted as a company grows. We’ll also be asking our audience what they would like to see incorporated within their cultures at work.
Our panel members include:
Keith Price - Brand Manager at The Lead Agency
Keith is the recently-appointed brand manager of The Lead Agency, where he has responsibility for developing the company’s culture, positioning and profile. He has worked in the media, marketing and digital industry for 15 years, having previously held the roles of communications manager at Rippleffect and deputy editor of The Drum.
Leyla McParlin - Account manager at Mando
Leyla has been an Account Manager at Mando for the past 2 years and specialised in digital for the last 5 years, working with clients including Liverpool John Moores University, Merseyside Police and Transport for London. Mando creates intelligent solutions for large Financial Services, Telecoms, Utilities & Manufacturing organisations who need to offer their customers simple and efficient digital experiences.
Jane FitzMaurice - Resource Partner at Autotrader
Jane has worked at Auto Trader for the past couple of years. She manages technology resource and leads on the company’s employer brand activity. Jane works as part of the wider people tribe, a group that helps shape the progressive culture and environment at Auto Trader.
Deborah Chapman - Head of reward, pensions and diversity at Shop Direct
An inspirational leader with 20 years’ experience in HR, Deborah is passionate about promoting diversity within the workplace and helping Shop Direct colleagues to get the most out of their reward and pensions. She is currently leading Shop Direct’s thinking on how the business transforms reward to align with its long-term people strategy – to become a truly digital workplace full of purpose and passion. Prior to Shop Direct, Deborah spent 14 years with RBS where she led a culture change programme to introduce greater flexible working, supporting the attraction, retention and promotion of female talent. This experience made her the perfect candidate to lead Shop Direct’s new diversity strategy.
The panel will be chaired by Jo Morfee, Director at Liverpool Girl Geeks
